A lover of all things vintage, passionate upcycler, Denim and Casualwear expert who feels most at home on or in the water.
Hi, I’m Lucy and I wanted to work as a Fashion designer from a very young age.
Known to request my Mum make me a pair of tartan trousers (inspired by Johnny Rotten), a Wonder Woman outfit (the stars were a challenge), and a traditional Thai outfit for my Primary school parade, I’m happiest when I’m deciding what I would most love to wear next. Or failing that, what other women would like to wear next.
I can spend hours in a local kilo sale, jumble sale or vintage store looking for cool slogan tees, time-washed denim classics, utility pieces and 70s dresses, as I try not to buy new. Sustainability and upcycling are at the core of what I do, and I strive to help brands and retailers work towards upcycling and sustainable clothing design at scale. We all know there are too many clothes produced today than we’ll ever need, and I would consider my self a designer who would like to work at reversing this worrying trend.
I like to inspiration shop London, Paris, NY, LA & Amsterdam, and visit Kingpins Denim Fair yearly.
I have close contacts with the most forward-thinking denim and casual fabric mills and years of experience applying the most sustainable wash and dry process technology in product development.
My detailed tech packs and CADS aim for right-first-time sampling, and trend forecasting skills mean my design work is versatile, stylish and relevant for a wide range of product areas.
All CAD work and tech packs are created using the Adobe Creative Suite, and I build presentations using Miro. I have many years experience in product presentation to leadership teams, and clear communication skills to buyers and suppliers alike.
I live with my husband and daughter at the foot of the South Downs, and as well as commuting into London for many years, I’m often travelling to India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Turkey on sourcing trips, working closely with regional suppliers and laundries.
